A hidden gem! Cincinnato’s debut was the result of the collaboration of four very young but talented musicians from Varese, whose short path echoes that of many other protagonists of the seventies Italian prog scene.

Gathered in the studio with extremely limited financial resources and even less time, they gave birth to a small jazz-rock/fusion gem, destined to fade into silence right after release.

"Cincinnato" represents a small masterpiece, initially released in 1974, enriched with tracks of remarkable jazz-rock and progressive music, most notably the 20-minute suite "L’Ebete."

This version includes three bonus tracks: a second suite recorded live in 1972 and two new tracks performed by the current Cincinnato. In one word: not to be missed!

Una gemma nascosta! Il disco di debutto dei Cincinnato fu il frutto della collaborazione di quattro giovanissimi ma talentuosi musicisti provenienti da Varese, il cui percorso breve riecheggia quello di molti altri protagonisti della scena prog italiana degli anni settanta.

Riunitisi in studio con risorse finanziarie e tempistiche estremamente limitate, diedero vita a una piccola perla jazz-rock/fusion destinata a sfumare nel silenzio dopo la pubblicazione.

"Cincinnato" rappresenta un piccolo capolavoro, inizialmente uscito nel 1974, arricchito da tracce di notevole jazz-rock e progressive, tra cui spicca la suite di 20 minuti "L’Ebete".

Questa versione include tre bonus track: una seconda suite registrata dal vivo nel 1972 e due nuovi brani eseguiti dagli attuali Cincinnato. In una sola parola: imperdibile!

The new live EP by Ryan W. Stevenson's project reminded me, that this debut album must have been gone down the wishlist... If instrumental Canterbury stuff is your thing, this should be a no-brainer. Firmly rooted in the past (late 60s, 70s), nevertheless with a fresh sound. Guests incude The Tangent's Andy Tillison and Soft Machine's Theo Travis. Carsten Pieper
