Officina Meccanica from Rome had several single releases in the seventies, especially the incredible “Bambini Innocenti” single that can be easily put among the best songs that have ever released by the Italian progressive movement of the seventies.

In the seventies audiences all over Italy where amazed about Officina Meccanica’s dramatic music and live performance. Musically Officina Meccanica play a very theatrical, dramatic and complex Mediterranean prog like Osanna or Semiramis, but with a large use of horns that can remind Van der Graaf Generator.

Officina Meccanica were more than simple musicians, since their shows were actual theatrical performances that amazed the audience, with singer Luciano Maiozzi who used to act as a mime during the instrumental sections of the songs (therefore the title “La follia del mimo di fuoco”, The madness of the fire mime).
