Very little is known about this group called Mo.Do., known to the Italian progressive rock 'aficionados' for Walter Locatelli's presence on drums, a former Dalton ("Riflessioni: idea d'infinito", "Argitari") member.
The band released only one LP, "La scimmia sulla schiena del re".

The album, almost entirely instrumental, consists of eight tracks for about 35 minutes, mainly divided among acoustic sensations, slow atmospheric moments and more sustained and complex ones.

Originally released in 1980, the LP is not affected at all by the 'synthetic' influences, which were very popular at the time; indeed it recovers a progressive 'classical tradition' that was practically lost in those years.

Ben poco è dato sapere di questa formazione denominata Mo.Do., nota agli ‘aficionados’ del rock progressivo italiano per la presenza alla batteria di Walter Locatelli, di provenienza Dalton (“Riflessioni: idea d’infinito”, “Argitari”). La band pubblicò un solo LP, “La scimmia sulla schiena del re”, prima di venire completamente dimenticata, eccezion fatta appunto per i più irriducibili appassionati del genere.

L’album, quasi interamente strumentale, consiste di otto tracce per una durata di circa 35 minuti, che si dividono principalmente tra sensazioni acustiche, frangenti atmosferici dall’andamento lento alternati ad altri più sostenuti e articolati, a ricordare principalmente PFM e Gentle Giant.

Pubblicato originariamente nel 1980, il disco non risente minimamente delle influenze ‘sintetiche’ in voga all’epoca, anzi recupera una tradizione progressiva ‘classica’ che era andata praticamente perduta in quegli anni, una scelta che purtroppo porterà presto il gruppo ad essere ignorato e a sciogliersi.
