One of many Italian groups formed during the seventies that proposed religious-inspired lyrics over a soft rock background, Messaggio 73 have released with their 1975 LP “Una ragione per vivere” one of the best examples of this style. The group was formed near Lecco in 1973, as their name suggests, and had a long activity with their show “E la luce fu”, that has been performed all over Italy until 1984.

The group was led by composer and violinist Giuseppe Mazzoleni (not credited as a group member), who wrote all the music for the LP. Musically speaking the album contains a mix of soft rock tracks with religious lyrics and some classical inspired instrumental tracks like the opening “Concerto pop” and a reworking of the “Adagio” by Albinoni.



Uno dei tanti gruppi formati negli anni settanta a proporre testi di ispirazione religiosa su una base musicale di rock melodico, i Messaggio 73 hanno realizzato, con il loro LP del 1975 “Una ragione per vivere” uno dei migliori esempi di questo genere. Il gruppo venne formato vicino Lecco nel 1973, come suggerisce il loro nome, ed ebbero una lunga attività con il loro spettacolo “E la luce fu”, rappresentato in tutta Italia fino al 1984.

Il gruppo era guidato dal compositore e violinista Giuseppe Mazzoleni (che non viene citato come componente del gruppo), che scrisse tutti i brani dell’LP.
Dal punto di vista musicale, l’album contiene brani di soft rock con testi religiosi ed alcuni brani strumentali di ispirazione classica come l’iniziale “Concerto pop” e un rifacimento dell’ “Adagio” di Albinoni.
